Send Accurate and Complete Billing Invoices

Whether the problem is nonpayment of fees, a claim of malpractice or a suggestion of unethical conduct, the invoice will draw close scrutiny.  The invoice should look good, read well, identify all tasks performed and the goal of those tasks, and should be accurate.  The invoice should tell the story of what the lawyer has done for the client to justify the fee being charged.  Inaccuracies, duplications or lazy omissions on the invoice may be all that is necessary to bring the lawyer's entire conduct and credibility into serious question with the client or a jury.
